John Molson School hosts the Lise Watier Foundation graduation ceremony

'The role of women is paramount in this reopening of economy.'

On September 20, in partnership with Concordia Continuing Education (CCE), the John Molson School of Business hosted the annual graduation ceremony for the Lise Watier Foundation’s Let’s Start Up program. This year, the celebrations included the first Toronto-based graduating cohort.

The mission of the Lise Watier Foundation is to help women living in a situation of economic, social or professional vulnerability reclaim their confidence in their own abilities and to take the initiative to act towards financial autonomy, through entrepreneurship, post-secondary education or the job market.

Held in a hybrid format, keynote speakers and presenters were broadcasting live from John Molson's 9th floor conference centre. The school was honoured to host a celebration of entrepreneurial empowerment that makes a significant social impact within our community.

"The role of women is paramount in this reopening of economy," Anne-Marie Croteau, dean of the John Molson School of business said when addressing the graduates. "Supporting women in their endeavours is supporting society. When we encourage the women in our communities, our communities thrive and grow."

Lise Watier deliverd a message of congratulations to all of the 2022 cohort of graduates. She remarked on the courage, strength and resilience that each graduate embodied in order to embark on this life-changing journey. 

"Without choice, there is no freedom," she shared. "The Let's Start Up program gives you the tools to make choices that are absolutely essential."
