PhD graduate from JMSB wins finance award
Ali Boloorforoosh, a recent PhD graduate from the John Molson School of Business, has won the Best PhD Student Paper Award at the Northern Finance Association (NFA) for his paper, entitled "Is Idiosyncratic Volatility Priced? Evidence from the Physical and Risk-Neutral Distributions."
The award was presented at the Annual NFA Conference in Ottawa on September 26. The NFA organizes forums at which finance academics, professionals, and PhD students from North America and around the world gather to hear and present the latest research in all areas of finance.
Boloorforoosh recently successfully defended his PhD thesis and is currently a visiting research fellow at JMSB. His teaching and research interests lie in the areas of financial economics, theoretical and empirical asset pricing, derivative pricing, and risk management.
