December 3 demonstration at Henry F. Hall Building
- On December 3, at around noon, a group of approximately two dozen protestors made their way to the mezzanine of the Henry F. Hall Building, where a student group had invited an external guest. The student group had previously been informed that their event was not approved by the Concordia Students’ Union, which manages the space.
- Campus Safety and Prevention Services (CSPS) agents were present.
- As verbal confrontations between the two groups escalated, CSPS asked for the assistance of the SPVM, who were already present outside in the vicinity of the building.
- Police officers formed lines to separate the two groups of about 20 people each. They were on site for approximately 40 minutes and left as the two groups gradually exited the building. No physical altercation nor physical damage occurred.
- The university is still assessing the event and will take appropriate actions against Code violations and/or criminal activities.
