More than 200 Nigerian girls abducted

Almost a month ago, more than 200 Nigerian girls were abducted by Boko Haram, an Islamist militant group led by Abubakar Shekau. This week Boko Haram released a video of the abducted girls as they were, allegedly, being converted to Islam. Daniel Douek, an instructor in the Department of Political Science, can share his expertise on guerrilla movements and politics in Africa. Kyle Matthews, senior deputy director in the Montreal Institute of Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS), can explain why this is an extreme human rights violation.
