25th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square

On June 4, 1989 Chinese soldiers opened fire on unarmed civilians who had gathered in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. Kimberley Manning, assistant professor in the Department of Political Science, was visiting China and was evacuated days prior to the massacres. Manning can share her personal experience and her academic expertise on China as the world marks the 25th anniversary of this event.
