John Oliver, FCC Chairman and Net Neutrality

At the beginning of June, John Oliver on his HBO comedy show Last Week Tonight unleashed a 13-minute-long rant against the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) proposed net neutrality regulations. The rant may have even caused an overload on the FCC website. On June 15, Oliver discussed FCC chairman, Tom Wheeler’s response. Fenwick McKelvey, assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies, can discuss the importance of the net neutrality discussion and how it will affect Canada.
