Suicide Prevention

Last week, the World Health Organization released its first-ever global report on suicide prevention and with the recent suicide of Robin Williams still lingering in the collective consciousness, this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day seems even more relevant than ever. Patti Ranahan, professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences, has over 17 years of experience working as a child and youth care professional. She can speak specifically to the crisis of youth suicide and how education is integral to prevention efforts.
