C02 emissions

Ahead of the opening of the UN Climate Summit in New York, it was announced that more carbon pollution was emitted into the air than last year, chiefly due to China, the U.S., and India. It’s reported that the world pumped an estimated 36.1 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide into the air last year by burning coal, oil and gas. That’s 2.3 percent more than the previous year. Damon Matthews, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, can share his expertise on climate change and how we measure carbon emissions.
