A Concordia study of the relative strength of online passwords is described in a Press-News release. Mohammad Mannan, assistant professor in the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) and Xavier de Carné de Carnavalet, doctoral candidate in the CIISE, rated the password strength meters of several high-traffic web service providers and found the outcomes to be highly inconsistent. Both researchers are quoted.
