Ever have your street repaved one year, only to have it torn up for sewage work shortly afterwards? Municipal blunders like this may soon be a thing of the past, thanks to new software developed by Concordia researchers. Tarek Zayed, a professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and former graduate student Khaled Shahata developed software to track the state of road, water and sewer infrastructure to help determine where, when and how to intervene with repairs and replacement. Coverage appeared in Science Codex, Terra Daily, (e) Science News, AMEQ en ligne, Duurzaam Bedrijfsleven, The Municipal Information Network, Phys Org, Science Daily, ECN Mag, Health Medicine Network, Canadian Underground Infrastructure, NewsWise and My Web Memo.
