- The Globe and Mail profiles Concordia computer science graduate Kam Lal, founder of Notetracks Inc, a Concordia District 3 startup, noted for its development of new mobile music-annotation software.
- The Edmonton Journal (reprised by Canada.com) reports that Albertan author Colette Langlois (BA, creative writing) has won the $10,000 Writers’ Trust/ McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize for her short story, The Emigrants.
