The office of the Associate Vice-President, International is pleased to announce that sixteen students and three professors from Concordia’s partner universities have been selected by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), under the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship Program (CCSP), the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) and the Faculty Leadership Pilot Program (FLPP).

This is the fifth year that Concordia has participated in the DFAIT scholarship programs and receives young researchers from different countries.

The programs award $7,500 - $10,000 for students to conduct research or study in Canada for 4-6 months and $3,000 for professors under a short period of visit. This support increases research collaboration and allows a greater two-way flow of graduate students.

This year, the awardees are from Brazil, Cuba, India, Mexico, South Africa and the West Indies. They will conduct research in the departments of Biology, Education, Psychology, Management, Cinema, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and the General Studies Unit of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.
