BCEE Prof wins best paper award
Concordia's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science wishes to extend sincere congratulations to Ted Stathopoulos, professor in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering. Along with co-author Yoshihide Tominaga, he was awarded Best Paper by the journal, Building and Environment. The paper was selected for the award because of "its originality, contributions to the field, quality of presentation and soundness of the science."
The paper is entitled "Numerical simulation of dispersion around an isolated cubic building: Model evaluation of RANS and LES" and appears in volume 45, Issue 10 of Building and Environment (published in 2010).The research presented in the paper was carried out by Tominaga, who is a Professor at Niigata Institute of Technology in Japan, and who was working as Visiting Researcher at Concordia's Building Aerodynamics Laboratory during the 2006-07 academic year.
