Vice-President, External Relations and Secretary-General Bram Freedman wishes to express his gratitude and thanks, on behalf of the entire university, to two long-time Concordians who will be leaving their positions shortly.

Peter Côté joined the university in 1984 as a library technician. In 1986, he began his tenure as the university’s Chaplain, a position he held until 2002 when he was named Interim Advisor on Rights and Responsibilities. He was confirmed in the Advisor’s position in 2004. On August 31, 2010, Peter’s mandate as Advisor will come to an end but he will be remaining at Concordia to pursue his studies.

During his 26 years at Concordia, Peter has been a valued and respected colleague. His calm demeanour and deep caring for the university are well-known as are his patience and his commitment.

A search for his successor is nearing completion. Until the search is completed, Kristen Robillard, Ombudsperson, will serve as Acting Advisor on Rights and Responsibilities.

Nancy Marrelli joined Sir George Williams University in 1965 as an employee in the library. In 1982, she was named Director of Archives, a position that she has held since that date. Nancy will be taking her retirement on September 30, 2010. However, as Archivist Emeritus, we expect Nancy to remain an active member of the Concordia community.

Nancy’s dedication to not only the Archives Department but to the university as a whole has characterized her entire 45 year career at Concordia. As well, Nancy was an active member of numerous provincial and national organizations and represented Concordia at many venues. Her experience and expertise will be missed.

A search for her successor is in progress.

Please join Vice-President Freedman in extending the gratitude and thanks of the university community to two long-serving and dedicated colleagues.
