Special appeal sent to inboxes
Faculty and staff are about to receive a personalized email, while others may get a pledge card through internal mail, to request contributions to the 2010 Concordia Centraide Campaign.
From October 25 to November 26, the Concordia Centraide Campaign aims to collect $185,000 in pledges and donations.
Centraide, called the United Way outside Quebec, supports the needs half a million people within Greater Montreal. It funds agencies that address important societal issues such as school drop-out, hunger and elder abuse.
As an institution of higher learning, Concordians are in a position to help. The easiest way to contribute to Centraide is via payroll deduction. Faculty and staff will receive an email to a secure website where contributions can be made.
Those who don’t receive a campaign email can signal an interest by writing to centraide@concordia.ca or downloading pledge forms from the Concordia Centraide Campaign page.
Several fundraisers will also be held. The popular pasta lunches are set for November 4 in the EV atrium (1515 Ste. Catherine St.), November 11 in the SP Building at Loyola (SP-S1-199, 7141 Sherbrooke St. W.) and November 25 in the LB atrium (1400 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W.) Watch for more events in NOW as well as on Concordia’s Centraide page.
Anyone who would like to organize an event to benefit the campaign is welcome to contact the Centraide Committee for guidance regarding logistics and for promotional needs. Just send an email to Centraide@concordia.ca.
