Honouring fallen soldiers
A reflective Remembrance Day ceremony was held on November 11, in the atrium of the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives in military service and those currently serving overseas.
Concordia President Judith Woodsworth and Provost David Graham provided moving addresses during the short ceremony.
Emceed by Director of Special Projects and Cultural Affairs Clarence Epstein, the tribute also welcomed words from Helen Fotopolous, Côte des Neiges city councilor member of City of Montreal executive committee responsible for culture, heritage and women's issues.
“On this solemn day, I think it is appropriate that we, as citizens of this great country, reflect on how we can all work together as a civil society to bring about solutions to internal and external conflicts by means other than violence,” said Woodsworth.
