Engineering team wins prize for artistic poster

An art poster designed by a team from Concordia's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science has beat out 75 other posters from all over the world

An art poster designed by a team from Concordia's Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science has beat out 75 other posters from all over the world to win North America's preeminent visualization competition in fluid mechanics.

The annual Gallery of Fluid competiiton, which was held this year in Long Beach, California, is organized by the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics (APS-DFD), and is one of the most prestigious in the field.

The group's photo images will be published in a special issue of Physics of fluids - Album of Fluid Motion and will be permanently displayed on the APS-DFD Gallery of Fluid Motion website.

The winning poster was selected by a panel committee that based its decision on artistic value, scientific content, and originality.

Their poster will be showcased again in the annual march APS meeting in 2011.
