Making friends in first year can be overwhelming, especially with over 45,000 students on Concordia’s two campuses.

Clubs and organizations can provide an ideal platform to meet people with common interests from across the university.

Joining a club can be an enriching part of student experience. The Dean of Students website features a complete list of Concordia clubs and associations.

Michel Boyer, a student from the Department of Journalism, visited an assortment of clubs and organizations to find out what they have to offer.

Hit the slopes, make new friends

Those who love winter sports and are looking for ways to hit the slopes should consider the Concordia Ski & Snowboard Club (CSSC). Its upcoming events include a number of out-of-town getaways:

  • February 21: Morin-Heights – “Le Mont est à nous Coors Light Party”; admission is $5 for night skiing and after-party.
  • March 6: Le Massif; admission is $50 for one of Quebec’s largest hills.
  • March 13: Whiteface Mountain, N.Y.; admission is $55 to ski at the site of the Lake Placid Olympics.

The CSSC is also holding its second weekend-long trip to Stoneham Mountain on March 18 to 20. The weekend includes a round-trip bus ride, two nights of accommodation, two days of skiing and breakfasts, for $235.
