Students and faculty can dial things back during reading week, February 21 to 27. And the entire university community gets a break for its President’s Holiday on Friday, February 25.

On that day, all campus resources move to a holiday schedule, with only emergency services operating. Most buildings have restricted access – both literally with only one or two doors open, and by limiting entry to those with 24-hour access.

That means that staff and faculty, with appropriate identification, can access their offices and laboratories; the same applies to graduate students. However, undergraduates will need a letter from their department. The Dean of Students or Conference Services can also supply written permission letters in advance for exceptional situations.

In some cases, facilities will be accessible with limited services. For instance, the libraries will be open for study, but circulation and laptop loans will not be available.

Individuals are encouraged to verify the availability of materials or services before February 25.
