On May 11 and 12, President Frederick Lowy, accompanied by Bram Freedman, vice-president institutional relations and secretary general, and Russell Copeman, associate vice-president, government relations visited Quebec City for a series of meetings with ministers, members of the National Assembly, and senior civil servants. This was his first such mission since being appointed interim president earlier this year.

Jacques Chagnon, president of the National Assembly and member for the riding of Westmount-St. Louis, home to Concordia’s Sir George Williams Campus, hosted a reception for the Concordia delegation, which was well attended by many members and ministers. Line Beauchamp, minister of education, recreation and sports, met with the Concordia delegation the next day.

“It is essential that we maintain good lines of communication with government officials. This was an excellent opportunity for us to share some of our successes, and also some of the challenges we face moving forward,” said Lowy.
