Concordia raises thousands for Montreal Children's Hospital
A dedicated group of Concordia employees has raised $12,541 to date for the Montreal Children’s Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre by participating in this year’s Pedal for Kids.
On June 14, a group of Concordians from the John Molson School of Business and the Department of Human Resources rode the Mighty Bike — a custom-made steel-framed bicycle that accommodates 30 cyclists, an MC and a sound system — for 45 minutes through downtown Montreal.
“It’s a great feeling to ride on the Mighty Bike, especially past the hospital,” says Concordia’s team co-captain Ida Giannelli, an employment assistant with Human Resources. “It’s truly moving to do something such as this.”
This is the third year Concordia has participated in the fundraising event.
As of June 20, more than 1,000 individuals from Montreal companies, community groups and the Children’s Hospital have helped raise over $700,000 this year.
The Concordia team is still accepting donations to reach their goal of $15,000. Click here to make a contribution.
