Copeman's role expanded
Russell Copeman’s title was changed to Associate Vice-President, External Relations on June 1, 2011.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Institutional Relations and Secretary General, he now has responsibilities beyond government relations that include acting as a liaison between Concordia and partners such as the board of trade, public and para-public bodies.
In his newly expanded role, Copeman will develop and maintain a positive working relationship and network of contacts with Concordia’s external stakeholders, including developing proposals to government and related agencies. Additionally, he will provide strategic advice on the university’s interaction with these stakeholders.
Copeman joined Concordia in October 2008 as Associate Vice-President, Government Relations, after having served 14 years as the member of the Quebec National Assembly for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. In 2007-08 he served as parliamentary assistant to the Quebec minister of health and social services, and from 2003 to 2007 he chaired the National Assembly Standing Committee on Social Affairs.
