The Vice-President, Institutional Relations and Secretary-General, has quite the experience running such campaigns, both for Concordia and for Federation CJA (Combined Jewish Appeal).

Most Concordians will receive his message via email this week week, while some will get paper pledge forms.

Centraide, a charity known as United Way outside Quebec, creates donor value by researching local agencies that provide support services to citizens in need and decides how the funds are divided among the 360 agencies.

The agencies provide services to alleviate issues such as hunger, homelessness and exclusion.

Concordia has been collectively supporting Centraide for decades. The university’s fundraising efforts are bolstered with special events, such as pasta lunches, jewelry and bake sales, and raffles.

This year, Concordia’s goal is $200,000. Centraide of Greater Montreal’s goal is $59 million, and includes Laval and the South Shore.

Please be generous and stay tuned to NOW for event announcements.
