Terry Too takes on new role as project director of student information system
Concordia’s Vice-President, Services, Roger Côté and Associate Vice-President, Student and Enrolment Services, Brad Tucker are pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Too as Student Information System (SIS) project director.
Too, who assumed his new role May 1, 2012, will oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the system.
“The project is a major one, scheduled for a full implementation within three years, and will have a significant impact on the student experience here at Concordia,” says Tucker. “Once the system is in place, it will be used by the entire student body – and Terry will have a lead role to play at every stage of development: project scope and deliverables, planning and implementation, monitoring and reporting and almost certainly, troubleshooting. But his proven strengths in these areas are why he’s right for the job.”
Too, who joined Concordia in 1980, was assistant director of Computing Services (now known as Instructional and Information Technologies, or IITS) for 10 years. Since 1990, he has worked in a number of management roles throughout Enrolment Services, presently serving as both director of enrolment analysis and process control, and interim registrar. He will continue in the latter role during his tenure as project director.
“Terry’s strong communication, leadership, critical-thinking, problem-solving and interpersonal skills are crucial to the success of this project,” says Côté. “As is his deep knowledge of university processes and their relationship with an enterprise-wide student information system. He brings to the table significant experience in strategic planning, as well as in project, risk and change management.”
