Quartier Concordia and Norman Bethune Square were both shortlisted for a Facteur D award. The awards, granted in seven categories,  aim to show companies and public organizations the economic and social benefits of investing in quality architecture, design and planning. The Norman Bethune Square was a finalist in the Landscape Architecture category and was entered by Groupe IBI-CHBA and the City of Montreal, but lost out to the Raymond-Lévesque Library in Longueuil. Quartier Concordia was entered by the university and Groupe IBI-CHBA in the Planning/Urban Design category and lost out to Quartier des spectacles | Secteur Place des Arts.

The 10th annual Concordia Volunteer and Leadership Fair was a great success. More than 700 students, faculty and staff visited the fair, connecting with the 45 community organizations that participated in the October 10 event. Many Concordians indicated they planned to volunteer with one of the organizations, proving once again that ours is a community that cares and is engaged.
