Free French courses for faculty and staff starting in January
Starting in January 2013, Oui Can Help!, in collaboration with the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles (MICC), will offer a new series of French conversation courses to eligible faculty and staff, free of charge.
To be eligible to participate*, you must be one of the following:
• A Canadian citizen born outside of the country
• A permanent resident of Quebec or Canada
• A temporary worker currently possessing a C.S.Q. (certificat de sélection du Québec)
Brief placement evaluations will take place the week of January 14, 2013. This oral assessment will help place you in a group appropriate to your level (beginner, intermediate or advanced). Courses will run from the end of January through the end of March, twice a week (e.g., Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays) at one of the following times:
• From 8 to 10 a.m.
• From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• From 4 to 6 p.m.
Prior to registering for your placement evaluation, you must have your supervisor’s permission to attend and be available to participate at any of the above-mentioned times. You cannot choose your course schedule as timing will be determined by group placement level.
Space is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
