Steve Harvey, dean of the John Molson School of Business (JSMB), took an opportunity at the JMSB Dean’s Awards ceremony and reception on December 6 to highlight the mounting acclaim of Concordia’s business school.

He announced that JMSB had just been listed as the 51st most targeted business school in the world by recruiters of MBA graduates in the annual QS Global 200 Business Schools Report. The new ranking moves JMSB up 27 places from its position last year.
“Our remarkable rise in this year’s rankings is a testament to the quality of our students, our faculty, and particularly JMSB's Career Management Services,” he said. “Because of these services, JMSB students are increasingly recognized and recruited by quality employers soon after graduation. I am pleased to see that the QS report reflects that.”

Released December 5, this year’s rankings were based on a survey of more than 3,300 worldwide employers that hire MBA graduates. The research is the largest survey of recruiter opinions about MBA employability ever undertaken.

Employers were asked to identify which business schools they prefer when it comes to recruitment. London Business School, INSEAD and Harvard Business School were the top choices of international recruiters.

The survey identified a trend that all business schools welcome. "This year's report finds record numbers of companies turning towards hiring MBAs, underlining the value of the qualification in today's globalized economy," says Nunzio Quacquarelli, managing director of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a company specializing in education and studying abroad.
