Map tracks shuttle bus locations

A new service for the Concordia community was launched February 8. The real-time map shows the location of every shuttle bus by using GPS.

The service is accessed online by computer, smartphone or tablet by visiting the Facilities Management web pages.

A screen at the Loyola bus shelter currently displays the map. An additional screen is scheduled to be installed on the Henry F. Hall Building in the spring.

This first phase gives users the location of the bus between both campuses. Coming features will include direction of the bus and the estimated time of arrival.

While the changes are transparent to the end user, the information is now more reliable due to the switch to using the built-in GPS tracking on the buses.
