Dean Robin Drew will be inducted as a Fellow into the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). The honour is in recognition of his exceptional contributions to engineering in Canada. EIC President Jean Zu will present the recipients at the Institute's Annual Awards Banquet at the Westin Hotel in Montreal on May 28, which will be a part of the third Climate Change Technology Conference to be held here at Concordia University.


Studio Arts Assistant Professor Linda Swanson (ceramics) has been selected to receive an emerging artist award from the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). As part of the award, Swanson will present her work at the 2013 NCECA Conference in Houston, Texas, from March 20 to 23, 2013, and will receive a generous grant, sponsored by Windgate Charitable Foundation. Her work will be featured in the Convention Expo and NCECA’s publications.


Alexandre Leger, a student in the Master in Public Policy and Public Administration program, has won a $1,000 bursary from the Simons Foundation at the recent Graduate Student Debates on Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, a joint initiative of The Simons Foundation and the International Security Research and Outreach Programme (ISROP) of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT).


Yesica Macias, also a student in the Master in Public Policy and Public Administration program who is currently on internship in Ottawa, has received an international Leadership Award to attend the Leadership Symposium in St. Gallen, Switzerland, at the end of April.
