Russell Copeman running for city council
Concordia’s AVP External Relations mayoralty candidate in CDN-NDG in November election
Russell Copeman is throwing his hat into the ring … again. Concordia’s Associate VP External Relations has announced that he will run in the November 3 Montreal municipal election.
No stranger to politics, Copeman served 14 years as the member of the Quebec National Assembly for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce before joining Concordia in 2008. In 2007-08 he served as parliamentary assistant to the Quebec minister of health and social services, and from 2003 to 2007 he chaired the National Assembly Standing Committee on Social Affairs.
Copeman will go on an unpaid leave from his position in September and is removing himself immediately from all files dealing with municipal issues.
