Sunday, November 3, 2013, is municipal election day. Concordia will remain open and activities will continue as normally scheduled.

Information for students

In order to assist all students to exercise their right to vote, instructors are asked to permit any student whose name is entered on the list of electors to vote during regularly scheduled classes without academic penalty. Since the law does not oblige the university to cancel classes, or other activities, to allow four consecutive hours of voting, classes and other academic activities will take place as usual.

Information for employees

The election on Sunday may impact some employees. As a result of election legislation, Concordia employees must be provided with four consecutive hours to vote. For employees whose work schedules do not allow for four consecutive hours to vote on Sunday, the university must grant the additional time off.

For example, employees whose regular Sunday work schedules are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. must be permitted to leave work at 4 p.m.

Polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
