For the second consecutive year, faculty, staff and students are invited to learn more about the university’s budget at a series of public conversations being held in May.

In addition to meeting with Faculty Councils, Benoit-Antoine Bacon, provost and vice-president of Academic Affairs, and CFO Patrick Kelley will co-host information sessions on the 2014-15 operating budget, which is projecting a deficit of $2.8 million. Projected total revenues are $394.8 million with total expenditures totalling $397.6 million.

The budget, approved by Concordia’s Board of Governors on April 16, takes into account annual cuts of $13.2 million to its operating grant, announced by the Government of Quebec in 2012. These cuts were made permanent in 2013-14.

Space is limited for each conversation, so pre-registration is required. Budget conversations will be held on:

  • Thursday, May 1, from 1 to 2 p.m., Room MB-2.130, John Molson School of Business Building (1450 Guy St.), Sir George Williams Campus
  • Event FULL: Monday, May 5, from 3 to 4 p.m., Room EV-2.260, Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (1515 Ste-Catherine St. W.), Sir George Williams Campus (Registration is closed.)
  • Friday, May 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Room GE-110, Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics, Loyola Campus (7141 Sherbrooke St. W.)
  • Thursday, May 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Room RF-120, Refectory Building, Loyola Campus (7141 Sherbrooke St. W.)
