Guy-Concordia metro station renovations: the facts
This spring and summer, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is set to renovate portions of the Guy-Concordia metro station.
Here’s everything you need to know about using the station — including how access to the metro will change during this period.
May 20 to July 11
The Guy Street portion of the metro station will be completely closed.
This means Concordia staff, faculty and students will have to use the St. Mathieu Street entrance and exit; it’s one block to the west, on the corner of De Maisonneuve Boulevard West.
Make sure to factor an extra 10 minutes into your daily commute!
Work involved:
- Repairs to the concrete slab
July 13 to August 22
The Guy Street entrance-exit remains closed; however, you’ll now be able to leave the metro station via the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV Building) and access Concordia’s tunnels.
You will not, however, be able to use the escalators going up to street level. This portion of the station will remain closed until August 22.
Work involved:
- Repairs to windows
- Replacement of revolving doors
- Replacement of floor finishes
August 25 to December 12
You will now be able to exit the metro station via the Guy Street entrance. Throughout this period, one set of stairs at a time will remain open while repairs are carried out on the other.
Work involved:
- Repairs to staircases
- Retrofitting of lighting
- Replacement of wall and floor finishes
Please note that access to the tunnels will remain open during Concordia’s operating hours to facilitate underground access to the buildings and retail stores.
