Book your place now for budget conversations on the Loyola Campus

Let’s talk budgets — or, more specifically, Concordia’s 2014-15 budget. What was involved in developing it? What changes were introduced by the Government of Quebec?

Provost Benoit-Antoine Bacon and Chief Financial Officer Patrick Kelley will answer these questions at upcoming budget conversations being held this month. The sessions take place on both campuses: the Sir George Williams Campus conversations are already full, but there is still space at Loyola.

“These conversations give students, faculty and staff the opportunity to better understand the complexities we face in preparing our budgets,” Kelley says. “This year, as many people know, we were faced with addressing a budget compression of $15.7 million. We believe it is important to walk people through the principles we followed in our decision-making process.”

Bacon agrees: “We have had good participation by members of our community at these sessions. It is an opportunity for people to ask questions, and to better understand our budget process.”

Since space is limited, participants are asked to register for one of the following sessions by emailing budget.conversations@concordia.ca. Please indicate which session you will attend and whether you are a student, faculty or a staff member.
