Every year, Concordians can count on certain events on campus. And like clockwork, when the university’s annual Centraide campaign kicks off, there are pasta lunches at the Sir George Williams and Loyola campuses to support this important fundraiser.

The lunches, which include pasta (meat or tomato sauce), salad, a drink and dessert, cost $12 each.

The Loyola Campus is hosting this year’s first pasta lunch on Tuesday, November 10, in Room RF-100 of the Loyola Jesuit Hall and Conference Centre between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The second pasta lunch will be held on Friday, November 27, in the lobby of the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV) on the Sir George Williams Campus.

There are other great ways to give to Concordia’s Centraide campaign:

Members of the university community can donate by payroll deduction. As soon as you donate online or by pledge form — whether it’s by credit card or through a payroll deduction — your name is entered in a weekly prize draw.

You can also buy raffle tickets from Centraide ambassadors, or enter the campaign's 50/50 draw.

This year, for the first time, an online auction is taking place for a lunch date with any of a large selection of the university’s top administrators and deans.

Faculty deans, university president Alan Shepard, chairman of the Board of Governors Norman Hébert Jr., and university librarian Guylaine Beaudry are among the people on the list. Bidding starts at $25. The winner gets to have lunch with the host, plus a maximum of two guests.

Other events include the second annual Concordia’s Got Talent concert, featuring performers from the university community. It’s scheduled for Wednesday, December 16, at 12:10 p.m. in the D. B. Clarke Theatre, in the Henry F. Hall Building (H).

Concordia’s 41st Centraide campaign ends on Friday, December 3. Free coffee and cake will be served at the closing event, from 4 until 5 p.m. in the EV lobby. Winners of the raffle and the 50/50 draw will be chosen at the event. You’ll also be able to buy last-minute tickets on site.

If you’d like to get involved in the city-wide campaign, please contact the Centraide committee

Mark your calendars and save the dates! Check out the Concordia Centraide website for upcoming events.
