It is with sadness that we share the news of the loss of Eva Samartzidis, associate general counsel at Concordia, who passed away on June 24, 2015.
Me Samartzidis, a Concordia graduate, worked in the Office of the General Counsel since October 2007. Her expertise was in research, intellectual property and purchasing.
Friends, family and colleagues shared their memories of Me Samartzidis in an online guestbook. "She was always there for me at Concordia," wrote Susan Ross, a former senior project buyer for major building projects at the university. "A great lawyer and a great human being with integrity and love. I will miss her dearly."
"Eva was truly a ray of sunshine and her memory will never be forgotten," wrote Miriam Posner, technical supervisor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, 20 Boulevard Brunswick, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence, Pointe-Claire or the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre, Beaconsfield.
