“In the three years that he’s been with us, Steve has made important contributions to the Faculty, strengthening its reputation and visibility as one of the largest and best business schools in North America.”
Harvey will remain at Concordia until December. In all likelihood, Bacon says, an interim dean will then be appointed while the university completes its search for a new dean over the course of the winter.
“I’d like to thank my colleagues at JMSB and in the Concordia community for their ongoing support and understanding as I embark on this new phase in my career,” says Harvey. “Together, we’ve made great strides in enhancing JMSB’s activities and reputation.”
Harvey, who became JMSB’s dean in July 2012, has led the Faculty in developing a strategic plan and in renewing the school’s Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation.
He led important curriculum reforms, was involved in several key fundraising initiatives and ensured that Concordia’s business school maintained a solid presence in various national and international rankings.
