We’re looking for two student hosts (both undergraduate and graduate students welcome) for a series of short online videos that will introduce Concordia University to prospective and new students.
Shoots will be mainly Monday-Friday approximately 2-3 days a week over several weeks, but hours and days are flexible — we will work with the students’ schedules. Students will be compensated for their time.
Qualities & requirements
- Currently a student (undergraduate or graduate) at Concordia University.
- Available 16-24 hours/week from mid-October through mid-November. Hours will vary week to week. Possibility of some additional hours January‑March 2016.
- Very comfortable in front of a camera.
- Experience in performing in front of an audience.
- Experience working from scripts is an asset.
- Ability to think on your feet — even improvise on occasion — is also an asset.
- Excellent spoken English required.
- Fluency in French an asset, but not required.
- Fluency in Mandarin is a great added bonus, but not required.
To apply
- Please send a 1-2 minute video (shot on a cell phone or web cam is fine) introducing yourself and explaining why you’d like this gig. Tell us a little about yourself, and what it is that would make you a great host for students interested in life at Concordia.
- Please include a CV and/or brief cover letter.
- Email your CV and/or cover letter to concordiahost@picturethis.ca and upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo or your favourite hosting service, and be sure to send us the link by Sunday, October 4, at 23:59 p.m. If you have an existing reel, you are welcome to include that link as well.
- Any questions can be addressed to concordiahost@picturethis.ca until Friday, October 2, at noon.
We’ll be calling in selected students for on-campus auditions the week of October 5. Filming will start the week of October 11.
