Holiday schedule: December 24 to January 2

This year, Concordia is observing a holiday schedule from Monday, December 24, 2018, to Wednesday, January 2, 2019. During this time, no classes or other instructional activities will occur. The university will reopen on Thursday, January 3.

Staff, faculty and graduate students with appropriate Concordia-issued identification will be able to access offices, studios and laboratories. Undergraduate students will require a letter from their respective departments to do so.

Buildings will be accessible via doors that are closest to security desks, which will remain open 24/7 for the duration of the holiday schedule.

Before heading out for the holidays, everyone is reminded to power down all computers, turn out the lights, close all the windows and unplug any unnecessary devices.

Shuttle bus service

Shuttle buses between Concordia’s campuses will stop running after 11 p.m. on Friday, December 21, and resume service on Thursday, January 3. Full shuttle details are available here.

Libraries

Webster and Vanier libraries will be open 24 hours a day until 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 20. Services will be available to Concordia students with a valid Concordia ID only throughout the holiday period as follows:

• Friday, December 21: Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, December 22, to Wednesday, December 26: Closed
• Thursday, December 27, to Friday, December 28: Open for study only from 12 to 6 p.m.
• Saturday, December 29, to Wednesday, January 2: Closed
• Thursday, January 3, to Friday, January 4: Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Saturday, January 5, to Sunday, January 6: Open for study only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Grey Nuns Reading and Group Study Rooms will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 21, and reopen at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 3. Check the Concordia Library website for full details.

Campus retail stores

• Concordia Stores will be closed from Monday, December 23, through Sunday, January 5. They will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, January 6. 


Food services

On the Sir George Williams Campus:

• The Green Beet, Starbucks, Freshii and Bento Sushi will be closed Friday, December 14, and reopen on Monday, January 7.
• Tim Horton’s in the J.W. McConnell (LB) Building will close at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 21, and reopen on Monday, January 7.

On the Loyola Campus:

• The CJ Café, AD Café and Rez Café closed on Monday, December 3, and will reopen on Monday, January 7.
• Services for the Tim Horton’s and The Market in the Richard J. Renaud Science Complex (SP Building) will vary throughout the holiday period and be open as follows:
  • Tuesday, December 4, to Thursday, December 13: From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Friday, December 14, to Friday, December 21: From 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, January 3, to Friday, January 4: From 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Grey Nuns and Buzz dining halls will close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, and reopen at 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 3.

Athletic facilities

• Le Gym on Sir George Williams Campus will be closed from Monday, December 23, to Sunday, January 5.
• The PERFORM Centre Gym will be open at the following times throughout the holidays:
  • Thursday, December 27: From 12 to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, December 28 to Sunday, December 30: From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 31: From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Tunnel access

Tunnels on the Sir George Williams Campus are closed from 11 p.m. on Friday, December 21, until 6 a.m. on Thursday, January 3.

Parking

The LB Building and Faubourg (FB) Building parking garages will remain open with regular operating hours until Saturday, December 22. Services will vary throughout the holiday period as follows:

• Saturday, December 22: Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday, December 23: Open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Monday, December 24: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight
• Tuesday, December 25: Closed
• Wednesday, December 26, to Friday, December 28: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight
• Saturday, December 29: Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday, December 30: Open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Monday, December 31: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight
• Tuesday, January 1: Closed
• Wednesday, January 2: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight

Loyola parking remains open to the public with regular operating hours.
