Downtown power outage affecting Sir George Williams campus

A gas leak that occurred in downtown Montreal earlier today has led authorities to deploy a precautionary power outage that is affecting many of Concordia’s buildings on the Sir George Williams campus.

The GN and FB buildings have been evacuated. The FG, LB, MB, EV, VA and GM buildings have no power at this time.

Many Concordia employees working remotely are experiencing Remote Desktop issues as a result of the power outage shutting down desktop computers.

Once power resumes, some desktop computers will automatically restart. Others will have to be restarted manually by IITS personnel, which may take 3-4 hours.
