What to expect for Fall 2021 term
Dear students,
It’s been a challenging year living and studying through this global pandemic — but there is cause for great hope as vaccination campaigns do their work. The future is becoming a bit clearer. Here’s what you can expect for the upcoming academic year.
Fall 2021 at Concordia
We anticipate you will regularly need to come to campus throughout the fall term for both academic and non-academic activities. We’re planning ways for you to safely access libraries, labs, studios and other facilities. Expect opportunities to meet in person with professors, staff and classmates, all in accordance with public health guidelines. The same applies for the chance to meet new people and reconnect with friends on campus.
If you are not already in the city, plan to be in Montreal by the start of classes on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Course delivery
Some of your courses will be online and some will be in person. Expect most large classes to be online. Course details, including method of delivery and location (as applicable) are being worked on over the next few weeks. Check your class schedule for the final list in early June.
International travel
Canada continues to maintain strict COVID-19 health and safety guidelines for anyone entering the country, including a mandatory two-week quarantine. Although it's not yet clear how or when these restrictions will ease, ongoing vaccination efforts will likely make a significant difference. Keep up to date on evolving travel measures and consult our COVID-19 FAQ page for updates.
I can’t wait for our Concordia community to come together in person again. I’m looking forward to seeing you on campus.
Sincerely,
Anne Whitelaw
Interim Provost and Vice-President, Academic
