Fall 2021 and our return-to-campus plan
September 7, 2021 is the first day of classes of the fall 2021 term, and many of us are heading back to campus for the first time in 18 months. It’s normal to feel both excited and a little anxious about what to expect.
With this in mind, Concordia has taken numerous steps to protect the health and safety of its community, building a return-to-campus plan that details:
- Procedures for how to access campus
- Health and safety protocols in classrooms and other shared spaces
- Regular cleaning protocols
- The use of masks on campus and shuttle buses
- Air quality and ventilation in our facilities
We are continually updating this site as the situation evolves, so please check back regularly.
Vaccination requirements
At the moment, the Government of Quebec does not require proof of vaccination for those wanting access to essential services, and it considers universities to be essential.
To protect themselves and each other, all Concordians — faculty, staff and students — are expected to get fully vaccinated, unless they are unable to do so for medical or religious reasons.
Want to learn more about vaccines? Booths have been set up on both the Sir George Williams and Loyola campuses to provide information on how they work and where to make an appointment.
Vaccination passports
Vaccination passports will be introduced in Quebec on September 1, 2021 for non-essential services.
At Concordia, proof of vaccination will be needed to get access to non-academic services at Le Gym, recreational activities at PERFORM, cafeterias, coffee shops, restaurants and places where alcohol is served.
Further details regarding vaccination passports and on-campus activities will be sent to the community shortly.
Other important information regarding the fall 2021 term
Please consult Concordia’s detailed CU back on campus website. It provides information regarding housing, transportation, student ID cards, using the Library, and more.
For further questions, students can stop by the Birks Student Service Centre in person or contact them remotely.
