Reduction of immigration thresholds

The federal government is considering reducing the permanent immigration threshold, with an estimated decrease of 20%, which would result in about 90,000 fewer permanent residents next year, according to recent reports.
Chedly Belkhodja, professor at the School of Community and Public Affairs and expert on immigration issues, is available to comment on this decision.
