Sarah Bernstein wins 2023 Scotiabank Giller Prize
The author was awarded $100,000 for her second novel Study for Obedience

Concordia creative writing alumna Sarah Bernstein, BA 09, is the 2023 winner of the Scotiabank Giller Prize for fiction. The prize, announced on November 13, and valued at $100,000, is Canada’s most prestigious award for literary fiction.
Bernstein is additionally one of just six authors who were named to the Booker Prize shortlist this fall — the winner will be announced on November 26.
