AFE 2024 T4A Income Tax Information

The Student Financial Assistance Office (Aide financière aux études, AFE) has started producing the documents required for the 2024 income tax return. Since the end of December, messages have been published in My Student Financial Assistance File to inform student customers of the progress of work related to the production of tax documents.

Those who have agreed to receive these documents electronically will receive an email notification informing them of their availability at the end of the operation. Email notifications will be sent between January 24 and February 7, 2025. For those who have not given their consent, the documents will be sent to them by post during the week of January 27, 2025.

The tax statements issued by the AFE are as follows:

• Relevé 1 and T4A (employment income and other income) The amount shown on the Relevé 1 or T4A corresponds to the amount of the loan converted into a bursary, the amount of a debt remission, or the amount of the bursary received under the Programme de bourses Perspective Québec or the Programme de bourses de soutien à la persévérance et à la réussite des stagiaires during the year 2024.
• Tax statement - Overpayment of grant. This letter confirms the amount that students paid during 2024 in relation to the repayment of an overpayment of grant.

Amended statements will be produced on February 6, 2025, if necessary. Note that, if a document necessary for an income tax return must be produced for students for the year 2024, a tax statement can be found in My Student Financial Aid File. Otherwise, this means that no document applies to their file.
