The Canadian poet, Irving Layton, was born in Romania on March 12, 1912. He died in Montreal in 2006. Last May, we posted and excerpt of his poem The Swimmer. Today, we would like to commemorate his life by offering you the whole poem as he read it when he was invited to the SGW Poetry Reading Series in 1967. We hope you enjoy this great poem.
