Records Management and Archives is happy to announce the publication of a new audio excerpt. Taken from the celebration of Sir George Williams College's new university charter in 1948, it features J.W. Beaton, the General Secretary of the YMCA of Montreal. Mr. Beaton explains how the evening course program of the YMCA came into existence. This program eventually led to the creation of Sir George Williams College.
It is interesting to note that the charter conferred in 1948 is the same charter under which the Concordia University degrees are conferred today.
If you would like to know more about Concordia and its two founding institutions, make an appointment with Caroline Sigouin at 514-848-2424 ext. 7970, to do research.
