Fine Arts alumni bring home Junos
Metric, featuring lead singer Emily Haines, BFA (Music) 97, won big at the April 21 ceremony, bringing home the prize for Alternative Album of the Year for Synthetica.
Metric's art director Justin Broadbent also won an award for best recording package for Synthetica's album art and band member James Shaw was named producer of the year.
Andy Keen, BFA (Art History) 93, and collaborators Bernie Breen, Patrick Sambrook and Shawn Marino, won the Music DVD of the Year award for their work on The Tragically Hip's Bobcaygeon.
Annabelle Chvostek, BFA (Interdisciplinary Studies) 03, and Amy Millan, BFA (Theatre) 97, (with the band Stars), were also nominated for 2013 awards.
The Juno Awards are presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements.
