Joel Barde’s mission was to spend 24 hours at Concordia’s Grey Nuns Residence and record his experience.

As a Vancouver native and intern for Advancement and Alumni Relations, Barde was asked to live one day at the Grey Nuns Residence at the heart of downtown Montreal. With the help of videographer Melodie Le Siege, a student in the Department of Communication Studies who produced this video, Barde expored the lively neighbourhood, decorated his new digs and enjoyed a good night’s sleep in his spacious dorm room.

The Grey Nuns Residence is one of three housing options provided by Concordia and is located on the university’s bustling Sir George Williams Campus. Over 350 students live in this historic building, which formerly served as the Motherhouse for the Sisters of Charity of Montreal.

The Grey Nuns Residence is coed, wheelchair accessible and offers both single and double rooms. The Grey Nuns Residence is also open to tourists and out-of-towners during summers and offers reasonable rates.
