There’s no place like home for the holidays, yet international and out-of-province students who can’t reunite with loved ones this season got to celebrate with peers. On December 19, Concordia hosted its annual International Students Holiday Party featuring funky beats and delicious treats to boost the spirits of 300 foreign and out-of-province students.

Organized by Advancement and Alumni Relations and the Concordia University Alumni Association, the event was held at Espace Réunion in Outremont.

In this video, student reporters George Menexis and Emily Campbell from Concordia’s Department of Journalism report on proceedings.

“Concordia is proud of its cultural diversity,” says Bram Freedman, vice-president of Concordia’s Development and External Relations. “Foreign students comprise more than 14 per cent of our enrollment and we hold the International Students Holiday Party to recognize their important contribution to our university, our city and our country.”
